Am I required to attend every practice?

Summer practice is not mandatory, but XC athletes are expected to be there, especially if you plan to compete at your full potential.  Training at this time of the year is fun and a great way to meet new people!  If you have a planned vacation or any other obligations, please notify Coach Intravaia before June 1st, the first day of practice.  

Why are we practicing in the evening?

Mostly because HS athletes love to sleep in!  With the addition of the extreme heat, it becomes unpractical to have practice in the AM unless we begin quite early.  Additionally, many athletes take summer classes or work during the day, that would completely conflict with a morning practice. 

Is there anything I need to bring or know specifically?

Absolutely!  Please submit our google questionnaire and you will be provided with our team contract that will explain all specifics of the program! 

This sounds intense, will I be prepared and ready for this training?

Each athlete will receive individual volumes and intensities for each practice.   All training will be well within the capabilities of each individual.  The program prioritizes teammates running in groups that are similar in fitness.  The fastest way to become successful in distance running is to be consistent, doing your best everyday.
